Composting 101 Website

Composting is a great way to be more sustainable. Not only does it reduce the amount of waste in landfills and lessen your carbon footprint, but it also helps keep your plants and soil healthy. Unfortunately, there are so many resources on composting out there, it can be hard to know where to start! What can you put in a compost bin? What steps are needed to manage it? How long does it take?

To help homeowners answer these questions and more, Green Iowa AmeriCorps Sustainable Schools member Emma Sliwinski has created a Composting 101 website. The site covers everything you need to know about starting a backyard compost bin, set up in an easy step-by-step format. Check out the link to learn more about this simple sustainable solution!
