Friday, June 7, 10:30-11:30 am: Amateur Nature Photography at the East Side Recycling Center in Iowa City.


This class is $10 for Iowa City residents and $15 for non-residents. Please visit www.icgov.org/activityregistration to secure a spot!


This class is intended for all ages. Please bring your digital camera or smart phone with you. All kids under 12 need to be with a guardian.



Monday, June 10, 2:00-3:30 pm: Endangered Habitats: The Arctic, at Robert A. Lee Recreation Center.


Learn about the unique animals that live in the Arctic, why it is endangered, and what conversationalists are doing!


This class is $6 for Iowa City residents and $11 for non-residents. Please visit www.icgov.org/activityregistration to secure a spot.




Thursday, June 13, : 7:00-9:30 pm: Eco Film Festival: Plastic Planet, at the Iowa City Public Library.


In "Plastic Planet", director Werner Boote takes us on a journey around the globe. Boote Interviews with the world's foremost experts in biology, pharmacology, and genetics shed light on the perils of plastic to our environment and expose the truth of how plastic affects our bodies...and the health of future generations (2010).



Wednesday, June 19, : 1:00-2:30 pm: Getting to Know Endangered Species: Blue Whales, at Robert A. Lee.


This series will show attendees how amazing these animals are, why they are endangered, and conservation efforts.

Friday, June 21, : 9:30-10:30 am: Nature Scavenger Hunt, at Terry Trueblood Recreation Area.


This Nature Scavenger hunt is fun for families and is geared toward kids grades K-6. Any child younger than 7 needs to have a guardian present.

Wednesday, June 26, : 1:00-2:30 9 pm: Getting to Know Endangered Species: Big Cats, at Robert A. Lee.


This series will show attendees how amazing these animals are, why they are endangered, and conservation efforts. This class will go over the all the different types of Big Cats what are endangered. Kids will participate in an education lesson followed by a craft or fun activity.
